Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I'm an artist and traveler living in Wilmington, North Carolina.

From home to every groovy destination it’s all about art. Just art. -

The new space, which I'm currently calling Studio Area HQ, is about what I'll be able to make. Ideas crammed into my journals are nagging to become multi-dimensional.

The space is equally about what I'll learn. For example I hope to learn that math, my nemesis, can be my friend and ally.

Yesterday I put some time into learning the super groovy SketchUp app. I'm using the free Make version.

I learn best when the result more than the new skill is the goal. I wanted to see what the new paint I'm imagining might look like within the dimensions of the space.

SketchUp, after a few tutorial videos, enabled me to have these glimpses.

I saved the SketchUp documents as .jpg files and scribbled notes on them with the ProCreate app on my iPad.

Sketching out the dimensions also tells me how much paint I need. Sincere thanks to my acquaintance called math.

When the walls of the studio area are painted the space will feel like me, like mine. The container will be ready for the Studio Area HQ to be built—in some ways quite literally—inside.

The very next step will be to unpack and won't that be fun.
