I love, love finding fun and pretty ways to store my art supplies. Though each wire, bead, crayon, thread and etc. are inspiring all by themselves, stored this way they seem even more ready to join in the game.
With such a display, out of sight, out of mind is less of an issue. I won't make the mistake of buying another Caran d'Ache neocolor II water-soluble wax pastel in yellow because I CLEARLY already have two.
When I'm feeling stuck with a project or just need a rest and reset in between projects, organizing and rearranging my art supplies always helps. It's good to reacquaint myself with what supplies lurk in boxes and drawers. Inevitably I find new inspiration just by remembering what scraps of paper and fabric I saved or what pencils I meant to try on an old roll of paper.
Rearranging is especially fun with the help of glass boxes like these that I found at World Market. The boxes may be meant for tea but I'm sure they look particularly happy filled with color and bits of shiny.
With inspiration refreshed it's back to creating.
